Ampverse-owned Philippine esports organisation Minana Esports has announced popular gaming creator Edgar ‘ChooxTV’ Dumali as an ambassador and investor.

The popular Filipino personality has a sizable social media following, with over 6m YouTube subscribers and 13m followers on Facebook. He is widely known for creating gameplay content in Mobile Legends: Bang Bang.

Details surrounding how much involvement Dumali will have in the esports organisation have not been disclosed. Aside from announcing the investment, no further activations have been detailed.

According to a release, the partnership is part of Ampverse’s growth strategy and follows its commitment to invest more than ₱100m (~£1.5m) to bolster the local gaming industry.

Ampverse created Minana Esports earlier this year as part of the company’s expansion into the Philippines. The brand has primarily focused on the MLBB scene, winning various lower-tiered events within the title’s ecosystem such as the Philippine National Esports League.

Minana Team Lead and Ampverse’s Regional Expansion Manager, Julius ‘Banoobs’ Mariano, commented: “We are incredibly proud to kick off Minana with a successful run and an official championship title under our belt. We will continue to build our success in competition, but at the same time create inspiration for the Filipino youth.”

Aiming to become a prominent name within the Asian esports scene, Ampverse currently owns four other esports organisations that are located in different regions within the continent. These are Vietnamese organisation SBTC Esports, Indian organisation 7Sea, as well as Thai esports teams Bacon Time and Made in Thailand. In its launch announcement of Minana, Ampverse detailed that it plans to enter Indonesia in 2022.

Alongside Dumali, gaming personalities such as Eric Eruption, Hypebits, Lhea Bernadino, King Jasro, and Elanorm have also become brand ambassadors for Minana. According to a release, their social media following combined totals an estimated 55m.

  • A-Tier High-quality sites that deliver a top experience every time. They boast strong performance, nice features, and reliable support, but are just shy of perfection.
  • B-Tier Solid platforms that are worth a spin. They’re safe, fun, and functional, but may be lacking advanced features or have minor drawbacks.
