Belong Gaming Arenas, a subsidiary of gaming and technology company Vindex, has announced a partnership with scholastic-focused esports platform Generation Esports.

The deal will see Belong host some of Generation Esports’ scholastic esports events in its venues across North America.

Generation Esports runs multiple scholastic products, including the High School Esports League (HSEL), Middle School Esports League (MSEL) and Military Gaming League (MGL).

According to a release, ‘national, regional, and one-off competitions’ are already planned to take place in the coming months. Details of the events were not disclosed.

Alongside hosting events, the partnership includes exclusive arena discounts for HSEL, MSEL and MGL participants.

The partnership kicks off immediately across all of Belong Gaming Arena’s US locations. Belong currently has locations in or near Columbus, Nashville, Dallas, Philadelphia, Houston and Chicago.

Since Vindex acquired Belong in 2020, the subsidiary continues to expand across the United States. Alongside the expansion, it has secured partnerships with the likes of OpTic Gaming, Hewlett Packard (HP) gaming brand OMEN, and most recently meal replacement company CTRL.

For Generation Esports, the deal marks another notable partnership as it ramps up activities following a $19m (~£15.17m) funding round in May. The platform partnered with PlayFly in August to devise a new high school esports monetisation model, shortly after launching a scholastic gaming curriculum in June.

Jon Bukosky, Chief Commercial Officer at Generation Esports, spoke on the deal: “We could not be more excited to work with such an innovative company as we constantly look to enhance the esports experience.

“Students, educators, and parents from all over the country will not only get a chance to compete in these events, but also get special access to exclusive discounts, opportunities, and access at Belong’s amazing arenas.”

  • A-Tier High-quality sites that deliver a top experience every time. They boast strong performance, nice features, and reliable support, but are just shy of perfection.
  • B-Tier Solid platforms that are worth a spin. They’re safe, fun, and functional, but may be lacking advanced features or have minor drawbacks.
