The Global Esports Federation and Panam Sports have announced that all matches for the inaugural edition of the Pan American Esports Championship will take place in Chile’s National Stadium Sports Park venue.
The tournament will take place in Santiago, Chile, the host city of the Pan American Games. For the Championship, esports athletes will compete in eFootball and Dota 2 in October and November this year.
The Pan American Games will consist of 39 traditional sports, as well as two esports titles, making it the first time esports has made an appearance in the Games. The event is jointly organised by the Global Esports Federation and Panam Sports, an organisation that is gathering all Olympic Committees in Latin America.
The esports tournament was first announced in 2022, with the venue being announced today. The National Stadium Sports Park is an area situated near the Estadio Nacional Julio Martínez Prádanos, Chile’s national football stadium.
The event is very similar to another inaugural esports event that the GEF is working on, the European Games Esports Championships. The European event will include Rocket League instead of Dota 2, and is set take place during the European Games.

The Pan American Esports Championships are the latest in a string of events jointly created by the GEF and regional Olympic Committees and Councils.
