Brazilian esports organisation FURIA has appointed Marcos Pereira as its new Head of Partnerships and Customer Success.
Pereira joins the organisation after a one-year tenure at Google where he worked as the company’s Games Business Development Manager for the Google Play platform.
In his role, Pereira will spearhead FURIA’s partnership initiatives in addition to enhancing the experience of brands and fans that engage with the organisation across its platforms. FURIA aims to utilise Pereira’s expertise to encourage growth and to ‘strengthen its position in the global esports landscape.’
In addition to working at Google, Pereira spent four years at Blizzard Entertainment as the publisher’s Manager of Marketing and Business Development for Brazil and the Latin American region.
The appointment of Pereira marks a period of expansion for FURIA. In April 2023, the organisation bolstered its backroom staff with two new hires where Patricia Lima became its Diversity and Inclusion Specialist while Thales Moura joined as FURIA’s Head of Talent.
Aside from new hires, FURIA continues to expand its partnership portfolio. In April, it partnered with payment platform Pay4Fun and in May, it collaborated with artist Guilherme Lemes to create a limited-edition range of merchandise.
André Akkari, co-founder and co-CEO of FURIA, spoke on the appointment: “We are thrilled to welcome Marcos as our new Head of Partnerships and Customer Success. His expertise and track record at some of the world’s largest companies will be instrumental in FURIA’s growth and expansion.
“We believe his vision and ability to establish strategic partnerships will help us deliver even more exciting experiences for our fan base and provide exceptional support to the brands we collaborate with.”
