The TELUS Esports Series, an esports circuit organised by Canadian telecommunications company TELUS, has announced a partnership with electronics manufacturer Samsung.
As a result of the deal, the third season of the TELUS Esports Series will see players use Samsung’s Galaxy S23 Ultra smartphone during Rocket League Sideswipe competitions.
In addition to Rocket League Sideswipe, the TELUS Esports Series will feature tournaments in Apex Legends and Rocket League. According to a release, the series will feature at least a $50,000 (~£40,315) prize pool split across the three titles.
The competitions are open for Canadian residents aged 15 and above with qualification tournaments commencing on June 8th. Competitors that advance through the qualifiers will compete in playoffs before securing a place in the semi-finals which begin on July 22nd.
In addition to organising the TELUS Esports Series, TELUS is also offering players access to TELUS Wise, an online programme aiming to promote healthy gaming habits and a range of guides for Rocket League and Apex Legends.
For Samsung, partnering with the TELUS Esports Series is another deal as part of its ever-expanding portfolio. In March 2023, the manufacturer partnered with Tribe Gaming and in May, it extended its deal with Nordic esports organisation GODSENT.
