Mobile esports tournament circuit Snapdragon Pro Series, jointly created by chip manufacturer Qualcomm Technologies and the ESL FACEIT Group, has named technology company Samsung as its presenting sponsor.
As a result, players competing in Mobile Challenge and Mobile Masters tournaments will exclusively use Samsung devices.
The deal commences at the Mobile Challenge Finals taking place at DreamHack Valencia from December 9th-11th. Using Samsung’s Galaxy range of devices, teams will compete in League of Legends: Wild Rift and Brawl Stars for a chance to win shares of a $38,000 (~£33,500) and a $30,000 (~£26,500) prize pool respectively.
Throughout 2022, the Snapdragon Pro Series has continued expanding into new titles and regions. In May, it revealed its inaugural season in India and in September, it announced an expansion of its ecosystem for the second season of competitions.
Alongside Brawl Stars and Wild Rift, the circuit includes tournaments in Mobile Legends: Bang Bang (MLBB), Free Fire, Asphalt Legends 9 and Clash Royale. The MLBB esports scene continues to grow at an impressive rate. In August, MOONTON Games partnered with architectural developer Hatten Land to build an esports hub for the game.
Samsung is no stranger to the esports industry, and has had a concerted focus on mobile esports. This year, it has signed deals with mobile esports organisation Tribe Gaming, and developed a mobile app for Samsung devices with ONE Esports. It has also expanded existing deals with the likes of Guild Esports.
