Italian football team Inter Milan has partnered with esports organisation Mkers to launch the club’s first-ever Fortnite tournament.

The tournament is part of Inter Milan’s new Gaming League, a series of tournaments based around non-football titles. The aim of the series is to engage with the younger generations and allow the club’s fans and gamers to participate in competitive events.

Participants of the Fortnite tournament will have a chance to win exclusive prizes, including two tickets for Inter Milan vs Lazio. Registrations are currently open and will last for one week. The tournament’s format has not been revealed.

Moreover, details such as what other games will be utilised for the Gaming League have not been disclosed.

This is not the first time Mkers and Inter have teamed up together. In late 2022, the two companies joined forces to launch an eFootball roster after Inter announced a multi-year partnership with publisher KONAMI.

Founded in 2016, Mkers is one of the most notable esports companies from Italy. Based in Rome, the organisation is mainly known for partnering with high-profile brands such as Italian fashion house Dolce & Gabbana, Armani and Gilette.

In 2021, the esports organisation built a Gaming House powered by Mercedes-Benz. On the competitive side, the team currently fields a roster in Rainbow Six Siege. Previously, it also had competitive teams in FIFA, Overwatch and League of Legends, among others.

Inter Milan is among a growing number of football clubs that are looking to utilise esports to attract younger generations. Last month, OpTic Gaming partnered with fellow Serie A football club Juventus. Meanwhile last year, Genoa CFC debuted its ‘Mare Dentro’ jersey for the 2023/24 Serie A season at the FIFAe World Cup.

AC Milan and Danish international footballer Simon Kjær also recently announced his own esports organisation called WOPA Esport.

We’ve created a ranking system to help you quickly know how good each gambling platform is. As gamblers ourselves, we know which factors matter most to you, so we follow a best-in-class methodology to test each one with no stone unturned. Once done, we then rank each platform based on the following tiers:
  • A-Tier High-quality sites that deliver a top experience every time. They boast strong performance, nice features, and reliable support, but are just shy of perfection.
  • B-Tier Solid platforms that are worth a spin. They’re safe, fun, and functional, but may be lacking advanced features or have minor drawbacks.
  • S-Tier Reserved for elite operators only. These go well beyond the norm with lucrative bonuses, rewarding promotions, lightning-fast payouts, and a flawless experience overall.
