Respawn Entertainment has announced that a new limited-time event, Galactic Games, will be arriving in Apex Legends’ latest permanent game mode, Wildcard.
The event brings new game mechanics and rewards to pursue during Season 26: Showdown, running from August 19th to September 9th, 2025.
New Wild Card System Brings Wall Running
The event brings a new item called Wild Cards, which can be crafted to grant new abilities to Legends, such as bonus melee damage, faster cooldowns, and even wall-running. After multiple rounds, up to three Wild Cards can be equipped at once.
- Mad Dash: gain a dash ability
- Recharger: recharge shields while running
- Personal Space: melee knockback is increased
- Hard Hitter: melee damage is increased
- Status Report: reveal enemy locations on knock
- Wall Runner: gain the ability to Wall-Run
- Speedy Charge: Tactical and Ultimate abilities charge faster
This mechanic will only be available temporarily, available for players to use from September 9th to 15th, 2025.
In Game Rewards and Event Items
Daily event challenges will be available, offering rewards such as the four event badges, limited edition Apex Packs, and more. Offerings on the rewards page will rotate halfway through the event.
There will also be unique event items coming with Galactic Games. The Godlike cosmetics will be up for a limited time, and legendary skins for Seer, Sparrow, and Gibraltar, among others. Some of the best guns in the game, such as the R-301, Flatline, Devotion and Triple-Take, will also feature legendary skins.
These will be available to collect through the Galactic Games Event Apex Packs, which also offer a new universal melee heirloom, the Grand Slam Bat and its customisation options.
Apex Legends Esports Events in 2025
Fans may see the new skins and heirloom melee in action at the Apex Legends esports scene. During the event, the Apex Legends Global Series (ALGS) Split Two Pro League will take place across multiple regions, such as APAC North and EMEA.
From September 6th to 8th, 2025, the ALGS Split Two Challengers Circuit (CC) will compete for both CC points and a spot in the ALGS Last Chance Qualifier for the 2026 Championship.
