Our FragPunk Lancer tier list takes a deep dive into what makes each character unique, for better or worse. Our primary criteria for ranking each Lancer are their three abilities, as the individual powers are what truly make each character shine.

The simplified list below explains all the ranks in our FragPunk Lancer tier list. We’ve used character abilities to determine the best of the best Lancers, along with the characters that you should avoid.

  • S-Tier: Lancers at the top of our list are the best because they have powerful abilities that are difficult to counter. S-Tier characters also often have strong chemistry with other lancers.
  • A-Tier: Characters in this rank aren’t the best, but they are reliable Lancers with worthwhile abilities.
  • B-Tier: Home to many of the Lancers in FragPunk, B-Tier contains a bunch of average characters that aren’t particularly unique.
  • C-Tier: Players shouldn’t count out C-Tier Lancers without trying them first, but these FragPunk characters are usually only useful in specific circumstances.
  • D-Tier: Lancers in D-Tier are the least powerful in FragPunk due to their weak abilities and disadvantages.

FragPunk tier list

The tiers below each offer a description containing vital info about every Lancer in FragPunk.

S-Tier

S-Tier is where the strongest Lancers in FragPunk reside. Hollowpoint can charge up a shot with her trusty railgun to deal massive damage, while Corona’s movement and damage-over-time abilities are fantastic for getting in and out of a fight with speed.

Pathojen presents a basic healer setup, while also offering the Killer Queen power to trap enemies in a damage field. Lastly, Ixchel’s moveset is great all around, but her ability to summon an arena that silences enemies is what truly makes her S-Tier.

A-Tier

Spider is FragPunk’s teleportation character, allowing players to jump to set locations. Next up, Nitro’s combat drone is incredibly powerful, letting you damage enemies from afar. Aura has the power to support an ally, so she’s indispensable as a support Lancer.

Serket has access to a dust tornado that can slow enemies, plus she can teleport to a set beacon. Zephyr is the final Lancer in A-Tier, and she definitely deserves the spot thanks to her power of invisibility. As you can see from the Lancers in this rank, they all possess a unique ability that stands out from the rest of the cast.

B-Tier

The home of the average is B-Tier, but being basic doesn’t mean these Lancers aren’t useful. Broker has both a rocket launcher and a smoke screen, along with a bomb trap. For those who like music, Axon wields a guitar shotgun that can blast enemies away.

Kismet exposes the opposition, allowing you to sneak up undetected with precision. Jaguar can throw down an electric trap, then have Hurricane send out the Cyclone Storm to block the enemy’s vision, a deadly combination. Overall, B-Tier has some of the best Lancers in FragPunk in terms of fun, though most of their abilities are only useful under unique circumstances.

C-Tier

The C-Tier rank only has two Lancers, Sonar and Dex. First up, Sonar can track enemies as they move and lessen the sound of their team’s footsteps. Dex is capable of deploying a clone with 10 HP, and while this ability stands out, it’s not particularly powerful.

Luckily, Dex also has the Mimic Trap power, so he can use strategic tricks to damage enemies. It’s clear that Sonar and Dex belong in the lower ranks of our FragPunk character tier list, though they can still work well in a group if you coordinate your team.

D-Tier

Chum in Fragpunk / Image credit: FragPunk

Chum is the only Lancer that we believe deserves a place in D-Tier. While this mechanical character is fun to play and has a pet named Chomper that’ll take on enemies, the skills aren’t as powerful as they should be. Given that all of Chum’s abilities revolve around Chomper, we believe this character offers too limited a skillset, which is why he’s one of the weakest Lancers in FragPunk.

Conclusion: The Lancers in FragPunk are each uniquely powerful

Some Lancers are stronger than others, though they all have special abilities that complement each other. Ranking the best Lancers in FragPunk is tough, but there are more than enough choices for players to find a good fit.

Whether you use a Lancer who deals massive damage or a support-oriented character, you’ll find that the Lancers in FragPunk are ready for anything the opposition can throw at your team.
