Discussing the decision on Twitter, Lee explained that he “decided to step aside from the Knights to pursue other entrepreneurial opportunities.”

It appears as if Lee had been gradually moving away from his involvement in Pittsburgh Knights since September, when he transitioned from his role of CEO in favour of becoming the organisation’s Chief Gaming Officer. James O’Connor, who co-founded Pittsburgh Knights alongside Lee, currently heads up the operation as the organisation’s President.

Pittsburgh Knights hasn’t appeared turbulent in any way from the public perspective, with it announcing a number of partnerships and investments over the course of the past year.

The organisation is partnered with Wiz KhalifaZoomph, SmileDirectClub, Sheetz, Replay FX, and HyperX. In October, NHL player Evgeni Malkin was announced as an investor, joining the likes of Esports MX LATAM Fund and Pittsburgh Steelers.

Esports Insider says: Considering Pittsburgh Knights’ official Twitter account didn’t even announce the departure, it’s fair to say that something is in play here. Nonetheless, it can’t be easy to depart from an organisation you co-founded and ran for a couple of years but it appears as if Lee has other ventures in mind.

We’ve created a ranking system to help you quickly know how good each gambling platform is. As gamblers ourselves, we know which factors matter most to you, so we follow a best-in-class methodology to test each one with no stone unturned. Once done, we then rank each platform based on the following tiers:
  • A-Tier High-quality sites that deliver a top experience every time. They boast strong performance, nice features, and reliable support, but are just shy of perfection.
  • B-Tier Solid platforms that are worth a spin. They’re safe, fun, and functional, but may be lacking advanced features or have minor drawbacks.
  • S-Tier Reserved for elite operators only. These go well beyond the norm with lucrative bonuses, rewarding promotions, lightning-fast payouts, and a flawless experience overall.
