The Clutch USA, presented by Deloitte has had its application deadline extended another week to give companies a final chance to join esports’ most exciting start-up competition. The deadline for applications will now be Friday 13th March.

The extension is to provide those who have requested a little more time to put their application together to do exactly that – plus we encourage anyone looking for mentorship and advice from an expert panel of judges to get involved.

All information on the application process can be found on the dedicated page – and the application form is here.

After the deadline has passed, we’ll review all of the applications before informing those chosen that they’re through to present by Friday 20th March. This process will be undertaken by a combination of the Esports Insider team and the judges involved. The companies selected will be provided with two tickets for ESI New York, taking place on April 27-28th.

The Clutch will take place after an insightful investment panel on the afternoon of the 27th. The panel will debate and discuss the investment landscape in North America, and contrast it to the rest of the world. The American landscape has undoubtedly seen more buy-in to global franchise leagues CDL and OWL compared to their European counterparts

The judges for the inaugural The Clutch USA are as follows:

  • Christian Christoefl – Senior Associate – Deloitte
  • Josh Dienstag – Chief Investment Officer – Artist Capital Management
  • Malte Barth – Founding General Partner – BITKRAFT Esports Ventures
  • Mike Sepso – CEO – Vindex LLC
  • TBA (to be announced)

Malte Barth, Founding General Partner at BITKRAFT Esports Ventures told ESI: “I’m delighted to be involved in The Clutch USA alongside another strong panel of judges. At ESI London we witnessed 9 great pitches and I look forward to more of the same in New York. Initiatives such as The Clutch provide an invaluable opportunity for the likes of BITKRFT to keep an eye on the growing pipeline of esports start-ups and offer mentorship where relevant to help take them to the next level.”

The Clutch USA is part of the wider #ESINYC conference which also features the ESI Hall of Fame on the evening of the 27th. For more information, and to purchase tickets for the event, visit the event’s page here.

ESI Ranking System
We’ve created a ranking system to help you quickly know how good each gambling platform is. As gamblers ourselves, we know which factors matter most to you, so we follow a best-in-class methodology to test each one with no stone unturned. Once done, we then rank each platform based on the following tiers:
  • A-Tier High-quality sites that deliver a top experience every time. They boast strong performance, nice features, and reliable support, but are just shy of perfection.
  • B-Tier Solid platforms that are worth a spin. They’re safe, fun, and functional, but may be lacking advanced features or have minor drawbacks.
  • S-Tier Reserved for elite operators only. These go well beyond the norm with lucrative bonuses, rewarding promotions, lightning-fast payouts, and a flawless experience overall.
