German organisation SK Gaming has renewed its partnership with North American hard drive manufacturer Western Digital for another year.
The extension will see Western Digital continue to provide SK Gaming with its range of storage solutions.

The extension of the partnership will see the two parties collaborate in a range of activations, including meet and greets, giveaways, and “exclusive online content and raffles” taking place through SK Gaming’s social media channels.
Alexander T. Müller, CEO of SK Gaming, commented on the extension in a release: “We are thrilled that Western Digital felt our partnership has been as successful as we did and we easily reached an agreement to extend it. With the WD_BLACK products on our side, we will continue to equip our players for success and support them in their data needs.”

Despite the current global situation, it hasn’t stopped SK Gaming from continuing to acquire new partners and extend existing deals. In June, the organisation expanded its partnership with HYLO Eye Care and inked a deal with AMD to equip its facility with the hardware company’s products.
Ruben Dennenwaldt, Senior Product Marketing Manager in EMEA at Western Digital, also spoke on the partnership: “Our continued support of SK Gaming is testament to an extremely fruitful partnership which has developed. It is great to see that the team is so successful and that WD_BLACK has contributed to their achievements.
“It is great to see how helpful the products are for SK Gaming and we are very excited about the variety of joint projects we have coming up.”
Esports Insider says: It appears that Western Digital managed to meet its targets with the original deal with SK Gaming which has ultimately led to the partnership being extended for another year, despite the ongoing struggles that 2020 has presented. Though, conversely, more eyes have been on esports than usual due to the drought of entertainment so COVID-19 – in a weird way – may have helped the organisation on this front.
