TL;DR

  • Some of the best Fortnite skins include Deadpool, Goku, and Master Chief.
  • Some Fortnite skins are exclusive to the Battle Pass, and others are available in the Item Shop.
  • Many Fortnite skins never reappear after they’re initially introduced.
  • Skins are vital for keeping players or drawing them back into Fortnite.

The cosmetics of Fortnite appeal to practically everyone, whether that be for long-term players or those finally giving in to FOMO after Epic Games added their favourite character. With that in mind, we’re looking at the best Fortnite skins of all time, looking at all the cosmetics that have been added up to Chapter 7, Season 1.

As cosmetics are such a massive draw to Fortnite, and with literally thousands to choose from since 2017, there is something for everyone, whether that be current favourite characters or those invoking childhood nostalgia. We’re going through everything you need to know further down the page.

What makes a Fortnite skin great?

While it’s easy to say that the best Fortnite skins come from the most popular characters, the integration into Epic Games’ golden goose is important. Fortnite has a distinct art style, and capturing the look of the universe that the character comes from while making the design work in Fortnite is no easy task.

With over 2,000 skins available for players since the 2017 launch, some are bound to look a little odd in Fortnite, while others have been integrated so well that they look like straight ports from whatever media the character came from. Of course, personal preference and an individual’s connection to a character affect which Fortnite skins they like most.

Epic Games has done incredibly well to bring some of the biggest IPs to its cash cow, including franchises like Marvel, DC, Star Wars, and some of the greatest icons of both anime and gaming. Even celebrities like Bruno Mars, Ariana Grande, Travis Scott, LeBron James, and Billie Eilish have Fortnite skins now.

So, let’s answer the question. What are the best Fortnite skins?

10. Bruno Mars

Singer Bruno Mars in Fortnite

  • Introduced in: Chapter 6, Season 3 (February 2022)
  • Cost: 1,800 – 2,700 V-Bucks (Bundle)
  • Last Seen: August 2025

Of all the IRL stars to join the Fortnite skins roster, Bruno Mars feels like he fits the game best. Perhaps it’s the vibrancy and eccentricity of his wardrobe, or perhaps his high-energy vibe, but either way, Mr. Mars looks good shooting Darth Vader in a Battle Royale.

This collaboration has been so fruitful that there are several Bruno Mars skins to speak of. Outside the default Bruno skin and his three additional styles: Winter, Blastoff, and Tycoon, there are also the Bruno-San and Bruninho skins. While it’s a bit of a cheat to include them too, they show how well Bruno Mars has integrated into Fortnite, especially with music.

9. Goku

Anime character Goku in Fortnite

  • Introduced in: Chapter 3, Season 3 (August 2022)
  • Cost: 2,000 – 2,700 V-Bucks (Bundle)
  • Last Seen: August 2025

Goku is one of the most iconic anime characters of all time and beloved all around the world. Being the protagonist of Dragon Ball, a franchise so massive that Japan won’t let it end for fear of its economic impact, his addition made waves in Fortnite.

Like other saiyans, Goku is known for his forms, which come as selectable styles, from Super Saiyan and SSJ Blue to Mastered Ultra Instinct. The Goku and Beerus bundle also comes with his Power Pole and iconic ki charging emote, allowing anime’s mascot to shine as one of the best skins in Fortnite.

While he was last seen in August 2025, another Dragon Ball release, whether that be the return of the Super anime or another film, will more than likely see Goku’s return.

8. Master Chief

Master Chief skin in Fortnite, wearing dark green Spartan armor with a gold visor and holding an assault rifle, set against a cosmic background.

  • Introduced in: Chapter 2, Season 5 (December 2020)
  • Cost: 1,500 V-Bucks (Bundle)
  • Last seen: December 2024

Simply put, Master Chief is one of the best Fortnite skins of all time and has been a popular favourite among fans of Bungie and 343 Industries’ shooter franchise for over five years.

Expertly recreating John-117, this skin looks pitch-perfect to the games, with the original bundle also featuring the option of a Matte Black colour scheme, which was available for Xbox Series X/S console users who opened the game with the Xbox Cloud Gaming Service, adding a further unique spin on things.

He’s come back a few times over the years, so if you missed him the last go around, you may find he’ll show up sooner rather than later.

7. Johnny Silverhand

Fortnite skins of V with pink hair and cyberpunk jacket, and Johnny Silverhand wearing a tactical vest with dog tags, both based on characters from Cyberpunk 2077, shown against a yellow background.

  • Introduced in: Chapter 6, Season 1 (December 2024)
  • Cost: 1,500 V-Bucks
  • Last seen: August 2025

Keanu Reeves has a couple of skins in Fortnite, and while his appearance as John Wick is noteworthy, his Johnny Silverhand skin from CD Projekt Red’s Cyberpunk 2077 is the one that captured hearts and minds.

One of the reasons Silverhand is one of the best Fortnite skins is that players can actually play as Johnny, which isn’t something that Cyberpunk players can do. While Johnny hasn’t returned to Fortnite since August, he’s still pretty popular, and the female V Fortnite skin deserves a shoutout too, with the Cyberpunk pair making quite the duo when taken into games.

6. Godzilla Evolved

Fortnite skins of Godzilla with glowing pink dorsal plates and King Kong with a stern expression, both standing against a purple and blue background.

  • Introduced in: Chapter 6, Season 1 (January 2025)
  • Cost: 1,000 V-Bucks (Battle Pass)
  • Last seen: February 2025

A long-rumoured addition to Epic Games’ battle royale shooter, the King of the Monsters made his triumphant debut on top form with the Godzilla Evolved form at the start of 2025.

As a Battle Pass reward, an extra incentive was added with the Energized Godzilla (reactivity) skin showing the Kaiju charging up for an energy blast if you earned 24 account levels throughout play.

A popular meme from the beginning of this year saw fans equipping Jordans for the villainous monster (complete with bespoke emotes and animations), which made him feel particularly special. There’s just something so amusing about seeing this creature dance and wield weapons, making him one of the best Fortnite movie skins that were ever released.

5. Hatsune Miku

Hatsune Miku Fortnite skin performing on stage with a microphone, surrounded by other animated characters playing musical instruments, in a vibrant concert setting for Fortnite Festival.

  • Introduced in: Chapter 6, Season 1 (December 2024)
  • Cost: 1,500 – 3,200 (Bundle) V-Bucks
  • Last seen: April 2025

A long-requested addition to the game, Hatsune Miku made waves as one of the most popular Fortnite skins ever despite only being released at the start of 2025.

It wasn’t just the Japanese Vocaloid star’s distinct look that won favour in Battle Royale, but the full bundle also included emote dances and instruments to use in Fortnite Festival. She made massive waves on social media, capturing headlines, and for good reason.

Much like with Godzilla, she was a dream pick, and one that was finally realised in good standing.

4. Rumi

Rumi from K-Pop Demon Hunters in Fortnite

  • Introduced in: Chapter 6, Season 4 (October 2025)
  • Cost: 1,500 – 3,500 V-Bucks (Bundle)
  • Last Seen: November 2025

K-Pop Demon Hunters felt like the biggest thing in the world when it exploded on Netflix, and the HUNTER/X skins did not disappoint.

Despite the unique and expressive animation style in the movie, HUNTER/X remain some of the best Fortnite skins adapted from an animated film, with the bundle having all the band members, their weapons, emotes, and ramyeon.

If we are to just pick one, Rumi takes the cake, predominantly because of the impressive physics with her extremely long braid. The K-Pop trio were last seen at the beginning of November, and the hope is that they will make a comeback when an inevitable sequel film is released by Netflix.

3. Kratos

Kratos Fortnite skin based on his God of War appearance, shown with red war paint, leather armor, and a glowing blue cosmic background.

  • Introduced in: Chapter 2, Season 5 (December 2020)
  • Cost: 1,500 – 2,200 (Bundle) V-Bucks
  • Last seen: March 2021

When it comes to the best Fortnite PlayStation skins, it’s hard to look past an icon like Kratos.

Ever since his 2018 appearance in the God of War Norse Saga, Kratos has not only been one of the most recognisable PlayStation icons but also an internet sensation for constantly saying ‘boy’. While his stoic demeanour contradicts Fortnite’s tone, that contradiction is what makes the Kratos skin so funny whenever he does practically anything.

While it’s been nearly five years since Kratos was last seen, he remains one of the most requested Fortnite skins to make a comeback. Given how faithful the skin is, and how it comes with his Leviathan Axe, a unique emote, shield, and Mimir body bling with the Oathbreaker set bundle, it’s all here for God of War fans.

2. Doom Slayer

  • Introduced in: Chapter 4, Season 1 (December 2022)
  • Cost: 950 V-Bucks (Ultra-Nightmare Set); 1,000 V-Bucks (Battle Pass)
  • Last seen: March 2023

The Doom Slayer easily ranks among the best Fortnite gaming skins that were ever released, with aesthetics based on 2020’s Doom Eternal.

While the standalone skin is top tier, it’s the Ultra-Nightmare bundle that sells this one as one of Fortnite’s best skins. You receive a glider based on the Cacodemon, the Crucible sword, emotes, and Mick Gordon’s rip-roaring soundtrack, too.

He briefly resurfaced a couple of years ago. However, we’re hopeful that Epic Games will bring him back with the upcoming launch of Doom: The Dark Ages.

1. Xenomorph

Xenomorph from Alien in Fortnite

  • Introduced in: Chapter 2, Season 5 (February 2021)
  • Cost: 1,600 – 2,200 V-Bucks (Bundle)
  • Last seen: September 2025

The Xenomorph has an argument for the most iconic horror movie monster of all time, and that makes it our number one pick for the coolest Fortnite skin.

Ripley joins the Xenomorph in their bundle, but what makes the alien so special is the absurdism that it brings to Fortnite. Players can give the Xenomorph Air Jordans and make it dance to BTS, which will always get a laugh.

The Xenomorph returned in March earlier this year, but vanished later on in September. It is bound to make a return if or when there is another Alien film in the works.

How to get Fortnite skins

There are several ways to get Fortnite skins. The two main ways are to buy them with V-Bucks from the Item Shop or by subscribing to the Battle Pass at the time and unlocking them as rewards for levelling up, completing quests, and hitting other, unique goals that season.

This doesn’t mean you have to fork out cash, since there are free Fortnite skins. Most recently, you can get the Mad Moxxi skin as a free reward for buying Borderlands 4 on the Epic Games store. Other free Fortnite skins include those from the LEGO collaboration.

Why Fortnite skins matter to the community

Fortnite skins are an incredibly important aspect of the game, and seeing their favourite characters in-game is why many keep coming back.

The live service model of Fortnite is one of the best around, with every update seemingly causing waves in pop culture. The skins and cosmetics are a large reason for this.

Every new collaboration with celebrities or the biggest IPs ensures there are always new fans on the horizon, helping the game maintain its immense popularity. It’s a hook that keeps reeling players back in, and it’s one that is entirely unique to Fortnite.

Conclusion

There is no concrete answer for the best Fortnite skins available, but we’ve made our decisions based on the popularity of characters, impact on the game, how they were implemented, and legacy for players asking for reappearances.

With over 2,000 skins released since 2017, there will never be an unbiased number one, but we’ve attempted to be as impartial as possible in our ranking. Still, that doesn’t mean you have to agree with our picks. After all, choosing your favourite Fortnite skin is part of the fun.
