This weekend, the 10th and 11th December, will see London, courtesy of Gfinity Arena, play host to Europe’s largest ever Gears of War esports event with $150,000 (£117,000) up for grabs.

32 teams from North America, Europe, Latin America and Oceania, will compete for their share of the prize pool, there’ll be two stages for attendees to experience all the live action, and there’ll be giveaways too. There’ll be plenty of broadcasters (see below) to keep excitement at peak levels throughout the tournament too.

The tournament is being delivered by Xbox and The Coalition, and will include brand new, Gears of War 4 competitive game mode, Escalation (5v5).

Individual day tickets are sold out but there are full weekend tickets still available at a cost of £32.

You also have the option of holding out till January for the second stop of this pro Gears circuit, though that would include a trip to Mexico.

Esports Insider says: Everyone loves Gears and it’s great to see it gets its own big money pro circuit. That the first stop is in London makes it all the sweeter, and let’s hope the double elimination format and the Escalation mode are a hit.
