Announced this week past, Epic Esports Events has partnered with Russian taxi service Citymobil for its upcoming Counter-Strike: Global Offensive tournament in Moscow, EPICENTER.

All the action is coming to Moscow on October 22 where eight teams are competing in the largest CS: GO event of the Commonwealth of Independent States.

With this deal being inked, Citymobil became the first logistics service partner for Epic Esports Events. The company is providing premium transportation for the teams from the hotels to the CSKA ARENA Ice Palace. Attendees can also enjoy the benefits from the partnership. Citymobil is offering special discounts on rides to EPICENTER during the final on October 27 and 28.

Svetlana Butyanova, Head of Marketing at Citymobil said: “Esports is probably among the most actively developing fields today, attracting millions of fans every year. We’ve decided to support the tournament’s guests and help them “taxiport” to EPICENTER, one of the most important international tournaments of this fall, held in Moscow.”

The collaboration is not limited to transportation, Citymobil is including activations in social media. At the event, the company is holding a prize raffle at its booth. The partnership also includes logo placement at the arena and the EPICENTER livestream.

Maxim Maslov, CEO at Epic Esports Events said: “A collaboration with a popular taxi service is one of the first instances in our industry of a service company entering esports. It is a prime example of a win-win story where we engage a quality service provider to increase the comfort of EPICENTER attendees and participants, while our partner, Citymobil, is getting an efficient tool for reaching out to its brand’s target audience.”

EPICENTER promises to be an action-packed event; so far four teams are confirmed for the event. Natus Vincere, Virtus.pro, Astralis, and FaZe Clan are competing for the title and part of the $300,000 (£230,000) pool prize.

Esports Insider says: Transportation is one of those things that people take for granted. If there is an issue, one of the many apps available can fix the problem in a matter of seconds. Citymobil recognised there was an opening and signed a partnership that will be beneficial for them.
