Seattle Surge is the latest team to be announced ahead of the franchised Call of Duty League‘s 2020 start.
The newly-revealed franchise is owned by Aquilini Investment Group and Enthusiast Gaming, the parent company of Luminosity Gaming.

The logo is the top of a trident, with its colours made up of shades of blue. The official website for Seattle Surge explains: “With our brand, we emphasize the Pacific Northwest’s natural surroundings by highlighting colors, geographical elements, and folklore associated with the Emerald City and Pacific Ocean.”
Seattle Surge’s roster includes Damon “Karma” Barlow, Ian “Enable” Wyatt, Sam “Octane” Larew, Josiah “Slacked” Berry, and Bryan “Apathy” Zhelyazkov. Joey “Nubzy” DiGiacomo is the team’s head coach.

The inaugural season of the Call of Duty League kicks off on January 24th at the Minneapolis Armory in Minnesota. All 12 franchises will compete during the weekend and it’ll also host the very first Call of Duty Challengers Open.
Franchises that have been confirmed at the time of writing include London Royal Ravens, Dallas Empire, Los Angeles Guerrillas, New York Subliners, OpTic Gaming Los Angeles, Toronto Ultra, Atlanta FaZe, Florida Mutineers, and Minnesota RøKKR.
Franchises yet to be revealed are NRG Esports’ Chicago and Misfits c0ntact Gaming’s Paris.
Esports Insider says: This is one of the least “out there” brands in the entire league so we imagine the reception will be much less divisive this time round. The alliteration is nice, the logo looks pretty sweet, and both Luminosity & Vancouver Titans have healthy fan bases to promote the franchise to.
