The 2020 season began on May 5th with 23 franchises competing online due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic. Prior to the season starting, it was revealed that league games would be broadcast on the ESPN2 network and its digital platforms.

Brendan Donohue, Managing Director of NBA 2K League, commented on the new partnerships in a release: “We’re thrilled by the level of interest and support from fans and partners for our third season. We’re excited to work with such a wide range of companies that share our commitment to growing the NBA 2K League, and we thank all of them for their collaboration to engage new and returning fans in creative ways.”

GameStop will serve as the league’s official video game retailer, Jostens will act as the official ring partner, SAP is its official business analytics software partner, and Tissot has been named the official watch and timekeeper.

These additions bring the total number of league partners to 13, joining the likes of Anheuser-Busch, Scuf Gaming, and Snickers.

Esports Insider says: Moving online evidently hasn’t damaged the league’s ability to bring in companies to support from the sidelines. The quality of these partners may vary dramatically if you ask people about them, but the likes of SAP is undoubtedly a good addition to the competition.
