Esports and gaming data platform GRID Esports has named bookmaker Parimatch as the exclusive betting sponsor of Champion of Champions Tour (CCT) broadcasts in Brazil.
The deal involves BTSBrasilTV (Beyond The Summit Brasil), a partner signed by GRID to produce and broadcast the South American stage of the CS:GO series.
CCT is a two-year-long global series of CS:GO competitions organised by the likes of FACEIT, Eden Esports, Relog Media, Black Molly Entertainment, GAM3RS_X and WE!RE Fantasy. The series is commissioned by GRID Esports and features a total $3.4m (~£2.87m) prize pool to be divided between stages in Europe, North America, South America, and the global finals in 2024.
The Latin American stage of CCT features invited regional powerhouses like 00 Nation, Fluxo, paiN Gaming and 9z. The online phase will include eight stages and a $200,000 (~£168,740) prize pool. Later, the regional LAN events will feature another $200,000 total prize pool.
Brazilian production company BTSBrasilTV retains the broadcast rights for South America and will keep it throughout the international event in 2024.
The move by Parimatch highlights its plan to expand its presence in Brazil. The brand will be featured in broadcasts throughout CCT Brazil starting from August 25th, which is when playoffs for the first series kick off.
Brazil becomes an even more strategic market for Parimatch as recently the company got its operations in Russia heavily affected by the country’s invasion of Ukraine, where the betting company is headquartered.
Russia was a major markets for Parimatch, with the bookmaker holding sponsorship deals with esports organisations like Team Spirit.
