Esports betting services provider Oddin.gg has become a member of the International Betting Integrity Association (IBIA).
As a result, the two parties will collaborate to ensure high standards of betting integrity are maintained across the provider’s esports betting products.
Founded in 2005, IBIA is a not-for-profit organisation that aims to protect the integrity of sporting events and the businesses of its members. Members of the association adhere to a code of conduct committing them to performing responsible betting practices in their respective markets.
Joining IBIA coincides with Oddin.gg’s North American expansion. According to a release, the provider is ‘seeking additional licenses in the US’ after securing licenses in New Jersey, Colorado, and Ontario.
Oddin.gg is a growing B2B esports betting services provider that made significant developments in 2023. In November 2023, it partnered with tournament organiser PGL to offer its products for Counter-Strike 2’s Copenhagen Major taking place in March. In June 2023, it also joined forces with Kazakhstan bookmaker Olimpbet, allowing the bookmaker to accept esports bets.
In 2022, IBIA reported a total of 268 suspicious betting alerts to the authorities resulting in 15 sporting or criminal sanctions against teams, officials and players.
Integrity remains a focus of many industry stakeholders. In June 2023, data platform GRID partnered with U.S. Integrity to assist with the expansion of betting regulations in the United States.
