Street Fighter 6 tournament Red Bull Kumite will return to Paris, France, for its 10th anniversary.

From April 5th-6th, 16 players will compete on a Great Gatsby-inspired stage at the Maison de la Mutualité.

According to the announcement, Red Bull Kumite sees eight veteran Street Fighter athletes face eight ‘hungry challengers’ of the genre. With 14 players directly invited, the remaining two slots will be assigned to the victors of the Last Chance Qualifier and Play-In stages on April 5th.

Since January 31st, aspiring participants can register for the open bracket Play-In tournament via Start.gg’s website. Spectator tickets are also already available.

The main event on April 6th will feature Kumite’s signature format, including a live drawing of the tournament bracket and BO5 single-elimination matchups.

Since its inaugural edition in 2015, which also took place in Paris, Red Bull Kumite has established itself as a reputable competition among the fighting game community (FGC). Following iterations in Japan, London, Las Vegas and South Africa, the event headed to New York in 2024.

Dominican player Saul Leonardo ‘MenaRD’ Mena, who will also participate in the upcoming Capcom Cup 11, secured last year’s trophy against Du ‘NuckleDu’ Dang.

The event’s organiser, energy drink brand Red Bull, has been involved in the esports community for several years. In addition to hosting tournaments, the company has partnered with numerous stakeholders and publishes esports content.

For the 2025 edition of Red Bull Kumite, the brand has teamed up with PlayStation and car manufacturer Opel. Moreover, gaming monitor brand AGON by AOC will return as the Official Monitor Partner of the event.

Most recently, Red Bull announced a Trackmania competition in collaboration with Trackmania content creator Øyvind ‘Wirtual’ Iversen.

In other news, last month it was announced that popular FGC esports tournament platform Start.gg has become an independent company.

Once done, we then rank each platform based on the following tiers:
  • A-Tier High-quality sites that deliver a top experience every time. They boast strong performance, nice features, and reliable support, but are just shy of perfection.
  • B-Tier Solid platforms that are worth a spin. They’re safe, fun, and functional, but may be lacking advanced features or have minor drawbacks.
  • S-Tier Reserved for elite operators only. These go well beyond the norm with lucrative bonuses, rewarding promotions, lightning-fast payouts, and a flawless experience overall.
