Sentinels has been crowned the Marvel Rivals Ignite Stage 1 Americas champions after defeating 100 Thieves in the playoff Grand Finals.

Sentinels, 100 Thieves and ENVY have qualified for the Mid-Season Finals, which will take place as an offline tournament in Hangzhou, China later this year.

Despite suffering a loss during the group stage, Sentinels went on a rampage during the playoffs. The organisation defeated the likes of ENVY and tekixd before facing off against 100 Thieves in the upper bracket finals.

Sentinels knocked down 100 Thieves to the Lower Brackets after winning 3-2. From there, 100 Thieves defeated The Shroud Gauntlet champions, ENVY, to get a shot at revenge in the Grand Finals.

In the end, Sentinels came out on top as the best team in Americas, narrowly defeating 100 Thieves 4-3. Long-time fans may notice that history has repeated itself, as Sentinels also defeated 100 Thieves twice — in the Upper-Bracket Finals and Grand Finals — of the Season 1 Championships.

Here is the full break down of the Grand Finals between Sentinels (SEN) and 100 Thieves (100T):

  • Game 1: SEN 2-1 100T – Birnin T’Challa, Domination
  • Game 2: SEN 1-3 100T – Yggdrasil Path, Convoy
  • Game 3: SEN 1-2 100T – Hall of Djalia, Convergence
  • Game 4: SEN 2-0 100T – Hell’s Heaven, Domination
  • Game 5: SEN 2-3 100T – Spider-Islands, Convoy
  • Game 6: SEN 3-1 100T – Central Park, Convergence
  • Game 7: SEN 3-2 100T – Midtown, Convoy
  • End Result: SEN 4-3 100T

During the Americas Grand Finals livestream, Chassidy ‘aramori’ Kaye, Strategist player for Sentinels, said: “I’m super excited for the Mid-Season Finals. I think we were looking forward to playing against Virtus.pro, but obviously they didn’t qualify, which is kind of disappointing.

“But we’ve scrimmed against Rad EU a lot, against Brr Brr Patapim, and we’ve also played against Gen.G. So it’s going to be really fun getting to compete against them in like a tournament setting and seeing how that goes.

“But they are not new teams to us, and I’m just really excited to get to show how we play on an international level.”
