Gaming personality and streamer Jack ‘CouRageJD‘ Dunlop has announced that he will be hosting a $100,000 (~£73,500) Marvel Rivals tournament called The CouRage Clash.
The tournament will see the influencer return to esports commentary after six years, with the event set to take place on October 2nd, 2025.
The CouRage Clash is being held in partnership with Marvel Rivals and its developer, NetEase Games. It will include the internet’s ‘favourite streamers’ who will compete for the lion’s share of the prize pool, though the influencer has shared that he is still in search of ‘more streamers to play’.
CouRageJD previously streamed Marvel Rivals and uploaded content on YouTube shortly after the game launched. While he hasn’t been active within the game’s esports scene, he is a co-owner of 100 Thieves, which has an active roster that placed third in the Ignite Mid Season Finals.
CouRageJD’s last esports commentary role was in 2018, which marked the end of his tenure with Major League Gaming at the Call of Duty World League. Since then, he has committed to full-time content creation and streaming.
Past Marvel Rivals Tournaments by Content Creators
Ever since Marvel Rivals was released last December, various content creators have hosted their own tournaments.
One of the most recent tournaments was held by Siarhei ‘bogur‘ Alekau, who also competed in Ignite Stage 1 EMEA with the team, Schmungus. His Bogur Bash event saw 48 professional players compete for the lion’s share of a $100,000 prize pool.
Before the esports scene heated up for the Ignite Stage 1, popular streamer and former esports pro Michael ‘Shroud‘ Grzesiek held The Shroud Gauntlet, which was won by ENVY.
Back in May, Twitch and Kick streamer Felix ‘xQc’ Lenyel held the xQc Invitational, boasting the highest prize pool of any creator-organised tournament in Marvel Rivals with a $250,000 (~£194,000) pot.
One of the first creator events held was hosted by streamer and esports organisation owner, Jeremy ‘Disguised Toast’ Wang, through the Creator Cup. Following its success, a 2.0 edition was held in March with a $60,000 (~£46,311) prize pool.
