Paper Rex has been crowned champions of the VCT Pacific Stage 2 after winning 3-1 in the Grand Finals against Rex Regum Qeon (RRQ).

After winning Pacific Stage 2 and topping the Pacific standings for Championship points, the team emphatically cemented its appearance at VALORANT Champions 2025, taking place in Paris later this month.

How Paper Rex Won Pacific Stage 2

Paper Rex was considered to be a top contender following its performances in 2025 so far. This year, it placed first in Masters Toronto 2025 after defeating Fnatic 3-1 in the Grand Finals, and placed fourth out of the 16 teams competing at the Esports World Cup VALORANT tournament.

Even so, topping strong contenders such as Gen.G Esports and T1 is no small feat.

Paper Rex established itself as one of the favourites following its performance in the Group Stage, topping its respective group with a respectable 4-1 win/loss ratio.

Paper Rex continued its momentum heading into the Playoffs, running 2-0 against T1 in the Upper Bracket Semi-Finals, followed by a swift 2-0 victory against TALON in the Upper Bracket Finals. Rex Regum Qeon stood as its last obstacle to the champion title, having clawed its way from the Lower Brackets.

Paper Rex established an early lead after winning the first two maps, winning 13-8 on Bind and 13-7 on Ascent. Rex Regum Qeon struck back, delivering Paper Rex’s first map loss in the Playoffs with a 13-6 win on Lotus. However, in the end, Paper Rex proved to be the better team after finishing the final map 13-7 on Haven, ending the Grand Finals 3-1.

Paper Rex Heads to Paris

As the top-placing teams within Stage 2, both Paper Rex and Rex Regum Qeon have successfully qualified for the Champions 2025 tournament in Paris, France. Alongside the two teams, T1 and DRX have also qualified after placing within the top four in the Championship Points standings in the Pacific region.

The LAN major is scheduled to run from September 12th to October 5th, 2025, and will see the top 16 teams compete to become world champions.

Paper Rex will potentially face off against top regional organisations such as EMEA Stage 2 winners, Team Liquid, and China Stage 2 champions, Bilibili Gaming. No doubt the team will be eyeing the lion’s share of $2.25m (~£1.66m) prize pool,
