Insomnia Gaming Festival has announced that it will be working with UK community event organiser EPIC.LAN.

The collaboration will see EPIC.LAN become the networking provider for the upcoming i74 expo taking place next year in Staffordshire, UK.

EPIC.LAN’s involvement follows Insomnia sharing that the Staffordshire County Showgrounds will become the new host venue for i74. The relocation allows for up to 1,400 attendees at the LAN party and a 20,000 square foot arena for the Insomnia expo.

Insomnia Gaming Festival’s upcoming event will be held next year from April 30th to May 3rd, with tickets available through the official website.

EPIC.LAN is also a popular organiser of gaming and esports events in the UK, having recently finished EPIC46 with Intel Gaming. Its next event, EPIC47, is scheduled to take place just before i74 from February 19th to 22nd, 2026.

What Happened to Insomnia?

Insomnia is the mind behind one of the longest-running UK LAN parties, and for 25 years has invited attendees to bring their systems to partake in various gaming and esports events.

The organiser announced the event’s return after its controversial exit in 2024. Reports began to circulate after Insomnia’s organisers, Player1 Events, laid off staff after the last LAN, i73 and failed to pay several creators and small traders.

Insomnia then relaunched earlier this year without Player1 Events, and published a statement addressing the controversies. It shared that it had provided redundancy pay to laid-off staff, offered to resolve any outstanding payments to creators, and resolved other concerns from the community, such as honouring free tickets.

Since its return, Insomnia has made major strides in turning its reputation around. It has welcomed organisations such as Modern Wolf, AV provider Protec, Emblem Events, and is working with High Viz Media for online broadcasts and stage content.

ESI Ranking System
We’ve created a ranking system to help you quickly know how good each gambling platform is. As gamblers ourselves, we know which factors matter most to you, so we follow a best-in-class methodology to test each one with no stone unturned. Once done, we then rank each platform based on the following tiers:
  • A-Tier High-quality sites that deliver a top experience every time. They boast strong performance, nice features, and reliable support, but are just shy of perfection.
  • B-Tier Solid platforms that are worth a spin. They’re safe, fun, and functional, but may be lacking advanced features or have minor drawbacks.
  • S-Tier Reserved for elite operators only. These go well beyond the norm with lucrative bonuses, rewarding promotions, lightning-fast payouts, and a flawless experience overall.
