Ukrainian esports tournament organiser WePlay Esports has renewed its partnership with data and analytics company GRID Esports.

GRID will become WePlay’s exclusive Official Data Partner and will support all of the company’s content across all data use cases. The two companies did not mention the duration of the partnership, but GRID did note that it will last ‘for years to come’.

The partnership was initially signed in 2021 and then later renewed in February 2022. According to a release, GRID will continue to provide WePlay with data management, distribution, monetisation, and integrity services for its data and live stream content. WePlay noted that this partnership extension will allow for better fan engagement and new revenue streams.

The extension comes after GRID also extended its partnerships with notable esports companies such as BLAST, Starladder, and PGL. GRID and WePlay notably worked together on the 2021 WePlay AniMajor, a Dota 2 Major tournament in Ukraine.

Kyle Freedman, WePlay Esports Chief Business Officer, commented: “Data leveraging is critical to the success and security of any esports event, and GRID is the best in the business. Esports is our mutual lifeblood, and it’s comforting to know we have a partner as passionate about our industry as we are.”

Earlier this year, WePlay announced a partnership with OTK Media, allowing it to access the VR and AR capabilities of WePlay. Since WePlay is located in Ukraine, the company has been less active compared to years, largely due to the ongoing conflict in the country. It severed all ties with Russia-based companies in February and launched a series of online esports tournaments to support the Ukrainian army in March.

ESI Ranking System
We’ve created a ranking system to help you quickly know how good each gambling platform is. As gamblers ourselves, we know which factors matter most to you, so we follow a best-in-class methodology to test each one with no stone unturned. Once done, we then rank each platform based on the following tiers:
  • A-Tier High-quality sites that deliver a top experience every time. They boast strong performance, nice features, and reliable support, but are just shy of perfection.
  • B-Tier Solid platforms that are worth a spin. They’re safe, fun, and functional, but may be lacking advanced features or have minor drawbacks.
  • S-Tier Reserved for elite operators only. These go well beyond the norm with lucrative bonuses, rewarding promotions, lightning-fast payouts, and a flawless experience overall.
