The first apparel collection, inspired by The Joker, will include a themed jersey worn by G2 Esports’ League of Legends team at the upcoming Mid-Season Invitational (MSI) tournament taking place in London from May 2nd until May 21st.

In addition to a collection for its League of Legends team, G2 Esports and DC Comics will launch another merchandise collection for its CS:GO roster ahead of the Paris Major. Aside from limited-edition jerseys, details on other merchandise included in the collection were not disclosed.

Joining forces with G2 Esports marks DC Comics’ second activation in the esports industry. In September 2021, the publisher joined forces with FaZe Clan in a deal which saw both parties create a limited-edition comic book containing a number of content creators as superheroes.

For G2 Esports, 2023 continues to see it expand and maintain its position as one of Europe’s prominent esports organisations. In February, the organisation entered a partnership with Philippine-based organisation Blacklist International to create a League of Legends: Wild Rift team known as G2 Blacklist.

Alban Dechelotte, CEO of G2 Esports, spoke on the deal: “At G2, we love nothing more than great storytelling and always had a lot of admiration for the DC Comics universe.

“For this MSI World Championship, the Joker character felt natural to take the competition by storm with our unexpected drafts. We can’t wait for the G2 Army to see what we have got planned for them.”
