The GIRLGAMER Esports Festival, an esports event focused on celebrating women, has announced it is heading to Atlanta, Georgia as part of its Season 5 schedule.
Atlanta is one of five locations selected for the 2023 GIRLGAMER Esports Festival World Circuit.
The Atlanta event marks the US debut of the GIRLGAMER Esports Festival, which will also take place in South Korea, the United Arab Emirates, South Africa and Mexico in 2023. Information on the titles played at each national festival was not disclosed, but the World Finals will include CS:GO, League of Legends and Rocket League.
Founded in 2017, GIRLGAMER Esports Festival has continued to grow into one of the leading women-only esports circuits. Previous editions of the event have taken place in Singapore, Macau, South Korea, Brazil, Lisbon and more.
The GIRLGAMER FESTIVAL’s constituent national festivals qualify into the GIRLGAMER World Finals. Location and dates for the next World Finals have not yet been revealed.
GIRLGAMER Esports Festival has partnered with North American esports organisation Ghost Gaming and esports production company Skillshot Media to run the US festival. Ghost Gaming has been named as the host organisation of GIRLGAMER Atlanta, while Skillshot Media will be the venue and production partner of the event.
GIRLGAMER Atlanta will take place on December 13th at Skillshot hub in Uptown Atlanta, a mixed-use community where Skillshot Media operates its live event management vertical.
Tiago Fernandes, organiser of GIRLGAMER Esports Festival, spoke on the news: “GIRLGAMER is excited to extend our global celebration of women in gaming into the United States with this partnership.
“The esports ecosystem in the city of Atlanta and across the state of Georgia is very well developed, as is the esports experience and mission commitment of our United States event partner Skillshot.”
