German esports organisation BIG (Berlin International Gaming) has announced a long-term partnership with pizza chain Pizza Hut

The deal focuses on BIG’s League of Legends and TrackMania divisions, with the chain’s branding also set to be prominently featured across the organisation’s social media platforms.

In League of Legends, BIG currently operates a team that competes in the Prime League, Riot Games’ regional league in Germany. The organisation won the competition’s top tier in 2021 and was a European Masters champion in 2019.

Last year, BIG was announced as a partner team for the TrackMania Grand League 2023. Its Trackmania team is set to compete in the TrackMania 2023 World Championship later this month.

Financial details of the partnership have not been disclosed. Moreover, whilst the deal is described as ‘long-term’, an exact duration has not been revealed.

Pizza Hut and BIG will deliver community nights, which give fans opportunities to face off against the organisation’s professional players in Pizza Hut-themed gaming sessions. Player meet and greets, giveaways and raffles were among the other activations the announcement highlighted.

According to a release, an emphasis will be placed on promoting Pizza Hut Melts, the restaurant chain’s new product series.

Statement Daniel Finkler, CEO Berlin International Gaming, commented: “We are thrilled to announce Pizza Hut as our newest long-term partner, supporting both our prestigious League of Legends and Trackmania teams. This partnership marks another significant milestone for BIG, illustrating our ability to attract high-calibre partnerships even in a challenging global market.

“It’s a privilege to have such an established and globally recognized brand like Pizza Hut by our side. I’d like to extend our deepest gratitude to Pizza Hut for their trust in us.”

Pizza Hut becomes the latest partner to join BIG’s commercial portfolio, which includes the likes of Volvic, Coinbase, SkinBaron and die Bayerische among others.
