Asian esports organisation TALON has announced its entry into the PUBG Mobile Super League – Southeast Asia as the competition’s newest partner team for the 2024 season.

Talon will be one of the 20 partner teams competing in the regular season for a chance to earn a spot at the season-ending PUBG Mobile Global Championship.

TALON is perhaps most-known for its partnership with French football club Paris Saint-Germain, which led to the creation of League of Legends team and Pacific Championship Series participant PSG Talon. Apart from League of Legends, TALON fields teams in Rainbow Six: Siege, VALORANT, Pokemon UNITE and has one of the most successful Arena of Valor teams in the world.

The team’s entry into the PUBG Mobile Super League also marks the organisation’s entry into PUBG Mobile, one of the most popular games in the SEA region. Interestingly, TALON used to operate a team in the PC version of PUBG, but decided to disband it in 2019 to focus on other titles.

The PUBG Mobile Super League is the highest-tier league in the SEA region, including teams from Malaysia, Indonesia, Thailand, Myanmar, Philippines and Vietnam. The league consists of 20 partner teams, as well as four best teams from the open qualifiers. In particular, Talon will be representing Indonesia in the league.

Sean Zhang, CEO of TALON said that the idea behind the organisation’s entry into PUBG Mobile is based on the game’s immense popularity in TALON’s home region, noting that few games have amassed such a great following in the SEA region as PUBG Mobile.

Zhang added: “We want to support the amazing talent within Indonesia by providing a platform for players to showcase their gameplay, personalities, and individual brands on the regional and even global stages. We hope this will mark the start of an enduring relationship between TALON and PUBG Mobile Esports as well as the incredible Indonesian esports community.”
