The United States Esports Federation (USEF) and North American esports organisation Ghost Gaming have partnered to launch the International Esports Exchange programme.
The partnership will provide North American players with an opportunity to visit other countries and compete on the international stage.
The programme will launch with a Tekken competition taking place at video game arcade 404 Esports, Atlanta. The tournament will determine a competitor to represent the United States at the 2024 Global Esports Camp taking place in South Korea.
Commencing June 25th to 27th, the Global Esports Camp is supported by the Korean Ministry of Culture, Sport and Tourism. The camp will look to provide participants with training from professional players, coaching sessions and workshops on physical and mental health.
In April 2023, the Network of Academic and Scholastic Esports Federations assumed control of the United States Esports Federation. Alongside its efforts to scout talent for the Global Esports Camp, the Federation is also looking for players to compete in the 16th running of the World Esports Championship.
For Ghost Gaming, the partnership solidifies its position as one of the largest organisations supporting grassroots esports in the United States. In March 2024, the organisation announced it would provide adaptive technology in collaboration with the United Spinal Association of Georgia giving people with spinal injuries a chance to play video games.
Earlier this year the organisation also announced a commercial partnership with online eyewear retailer Zenni Optical.
Jorrel Batac, COO of the USEF, spoke on the deal: “Our goal is to provide a networking and exchange platform for USEF.GG players and those from other countries.
“It has been exciting to work closely with KeSPA to develop this opportunity, and we look forward to the continued exchange between U.S. and Korean esports athletes.”
