Global esports organisation Gen.G will host its Campus Takeover at Marymount University in collaboration with McDonald’s.

Taking place on September 27th and 28th, the two-day conference will feature see keynote speakers participate in industry panels, giving students the opportunity to network with professionals and leaders in the esports space.

McDonald’s will provide samples of its menu during the event, host giveaways with branded prizes, promote the event on its social media platforms, and activate an interactive booth during the conference.

Arnold Hur, Gen.G’s CEO, commented: “We continue our programming with McDonald’s in the DMV region to engage college students on the opportunities within gaming and esports. Campus Takeover is designed to be an interactive experience to connect with fellow gamers to learn more about our industry and build a fulfilling career.”

Several topics around gaming and esports will be covered during the panels, including mental wellness, inclusivity, AI, Web3, and more. All college students in the DC, Virginia, and Maryland region can register for the event through a dedicated website.

Gen.G and McDonald’s have a long-standing partnership dating back to 2021, when the two first joined forces with the inaugural McDonald’s Gaming League in the United States. The partnership was renewed in 2023 to expand into local markets.

Gen.G is One of the Key Drivers in Esports Education

The esports team has been working closely with educational institutions across North America to bring its Campus Takeover. Last year, the event was brought to Syracuse University and the University of Kentucky.

Aside from its efforts in growing the new generation of leaders in the esports space, Gen.G is also known for operating the Gen.G Global Academy, the first fully integrated academic esports programme in Korea to develop future esports players, with facilities across Seoul, Los Angeles, Riyadh, and Shanghai.

In June 2024, the organisation opened a new building near its headquarters in Seoul to further expand its academy structure.

On the competitive side of things, Gen.G is best known for its presence across League of Legends, VALORANT, Rocket League, and PUBG. The team recently won the 2025 Mid-Season Invitational and is currently among the top four teams in the LCK Season Finals, having locked in a qualification to Worlds 2025.

ESI Ranking System
We’ve created a ranking system to help you quickly know how good each gambling platform is. As gamblers ourselves, we know which factors matter most to you, so we follow a best-in-class methodology to test each one with no stone unturned. Once done, we then rank each platform based on the following tiers:
  • A-Tier High-quality sites that deliver a top experience every time. They boast strong performance, nice features, and reliable support, but are just shy of perfection.
  • B-Tier Solid platforms that are worth a spin. They’re safe, fun, and functional, but may be lacking advanced features or have minor drawbacks.
  • S-Tier Reserved for elite operators only. These go well beyond the norm with lucrative bonuses, rewarding promotions, lightning-fast payouts, and a flawless experience overall.
