The Global Esports Federation (GEF) has announced it has entered a strategic partnership with the Arab Esports Federation (ARESF).
The partnership will focus on supporting the growth of esports in the Arab region and Africa.

Said to “promote, support, and develop the esports ecosystem” in the Arab region, the GEF will collaborate with the ARESF to encourage sustainable growth of its respective esports market.
HRH Prince Faisal bin Bandar bin Sultan Al Saud, President of the Arab Esports Federation, spoke on the partnership in a release: “The Arab region presents truly dynamic development opportunities for esports to thrive. We are optimistic about the future of esports. Esports in this region has been on the rise.
“This latest collaboration between the Arab Esports Federation and the Global Esports Federation allows us to create an inclusive expansion strategy that serves our communities and delivers holistic growth opportunities for esports to continue to develop; as well as giving our youth access to unparalleled global opportunities.”

In recent months, the Global Esports Federation joined forces with the Olympic Council of Asia, World Taekwondo, International Tennis Federation, and Dentsu. The aforementioned deals were inked with the purpose to assist the development and growth of esports.
Chris Chan, President of the Global Esports Federation, also commented on the collaboration: “We are honored to partner with the Arab Esports Federation, under the leadership of its President, HRH Prince Faisal bin Bandar bin Sultan Al Saud, to maximize the potential of esports, for good. This latest partnership will further expand on our mission in establishing a unified vision and strategy for youth in the region with a global perspective, as well as intensifying our convening effort of the world’s esports ecosystem.”
Esports Insider says: Despite the concerns of Tencent’s involvement, the GEF continues to bring in a range of bodies on board. It will be interesting to see what comes of this particular partnership, as others have yet to have a significant impact on the industry.
