According to the release, the partnership, which also looks to celebrate International Women’s Day, will stay active throughout 2022. The organisations will reportedly plan co-streaming appearances, Envy-led participation at Texas-based the*gameHERs Collegiate Program events and a series of staff and creator spotlights.

Erin Schendle, SVP of Sales and Partnerships at Envy Gaming, spoke on the announcement in a release: “Gaming and esports have come a long way but still have so far to go in the fair and representative treatment of women.

“We want to bring a megaphone to the positive things that organisations, brands, and individuals are doing to foster a community of equality and empowerment for all girls and women interested in gaming.”

Earlier this year, Envy Gaming also debuted the Envy House — an all-female creator house located in Los Angeles that serves as a home and an activation space for the organisation’s content creators.

Moreover, its nonprofit company Envy Foundation has reportedly regularly supported initiatives and programming to foster inclusivity in the gaming community. Last year, the foundation launched applications for Texas-based schools and esports clubs to obtain a grant in order to start or grow a youth esports programme.

Rebecca Dixon, CEO and Co-Founder of the*gameHERs, commented: “the*gameHERs is thrilled to announce our partnership with Envy Gaming launching as part of Women’s History Month and continuing throughout 2022.

“Envy has shown consistent dedication to supporting women in gaming and their mission is very much aligned with the*gameHERs’ DEIB initiatives.”

Esports Insider says: This marks yet another initiative with a greater cause by Envy Gaming. Aiming to encourage inclusivity in the gaming and esports communities, the organisation has been active in various spaces, including support of collegiate esports and raising money for the Children’s Health Medical Center Foundation. For the*gameHERs, this partnership will potentially help boost its efforts to ‘advance the role, voice, image and power of gamers who identify as women’.
