Live streaming data analytics provider Stream Hatchet, a GameSquare company, has renewed and expanded its partnership with games developer Riot Games.

Stream Hatchet will support the publisher with SaaS-based analytics solutions across its global event operations for League of Legends and the VALORANT Champions Tour (VCT).

Stream Hatchet and Riot Games have partnered for five years, elevating the developer’s decision-making around tournament scheduling and formats through audience tracking and viewership trend analysis. They also recently extended the scope of their partnership to additional influencer marketing capabilities produced by influencer platform company Sideqik.

Both Sideqik and Stream Hatchet are subsidiaries of esports holding company GameSquare. While Sideqik is GameSquare’s end-to-end creator relationship management solutions, its sister company specialises in measuring and analysing live-streaming viewership and engagement data.

Stream Hatchet assists publishers, brands, and IP holders with data from Twitch, YouTube Live, Trovo and more. The company also publishes a yearly gaming and esports trends report featuring viewership insights.

Parent company GameSquare owns several esports and gaming ventures, including esports organisation FaZe Clan and marketing agency Zoned Gaming. The company has previously collaborated with Mastercard, eye health startup Vivior, and dairy advocacy group Dairy MAX.

Last month, GameSquare launched creator-lead media company FaZe Media following its merger with North American esports organisation FaZe Clan. Shortly after, the holdings company sold a 25.5% stake of FaZe Media to Richard ‘FaZe Banks’ Bengston, the organisation’s CEO and one of FaZe Clan’s original founders.

Gabrielle Haug, Director of Esports Insights at Riot Games, commented on the continued partnership with Stream Hatcher: “Stream Hatchet, and its suite of data solutions, remains a trusted tool that allows our esports team at Riot Games to deliver on our mission to bring joy to millions of players worldwide through mind-blowing esports event experiences.”

“Having access to data and insights that tell the story of what resonates with our players is vital to our ability to continuously raise the bar on these experiences to the level our esports fans want and deserve.”
