British esports organisation EXCEL ESPORTS has announced a partnership with INZONE, the gaming gear brand of multinational technology company Sony.
The year-long deal will see the brand become the organisation’s official gaming headset and monitor partner.
Alongside supporting EXCEL’s rosters by providing players with headsets and monitors, the two parties will collaborate on activations aiming to ‘promote a culture of healthy esports competition’. Details about the activations were not disclosed.
Founded in June, INZONE launched a range of products including two gaming monitors and three gaming headsets. Sony says it plans to develop and release more products in the future. Since launch, the brand has partnered with the likes of fighting game tournament Evolution Championship Series (Evo) and the VALORANT Champions Tour (VCT).
In recent months, Sony has expanded its esports presence. In addition to the launch of INZONE, the technology company acquired esports tournament platform Repeat.gg to offer a variety of tournaments for PlayStation users.
November continues to be a month of expansion for EXCEL ESPORTS. The organisation announced a three-year renewal with mobile network operator EE and also acquired assets belonging to esports e-learning platform Hitcap.
Mark Carter, Commercial Director at EXCEL ESPORTS, spoke on the deal: “Sony has led innovation in gaming technology for years now, and that’s why we’re beyond excited to announce Sony’s INZONE as our Official Gaming Headsets & Monitor Partner.
“With industry-leading noise cancellation technology, groundbreaking spatial audio features, and jaw-dropping displays, Sony’s INZONE products are engineered for victory, and we can’t wait to see how they will support our players in reaching new heights on the global stage.”
